Dress Code
Remember that you represent one of the finest youth organizations in the world. You are always our “Public Relations” ambassador and a role model to newer members. Appropriate attire expects appropriate respect.
Section 1. Formal *: ****
- Tuxedo or dark suit (dress jacket required)
- Dark dress slacks
- Tux or white dress shirt and tie
- Leather belt, dress suspenders, polished dress shoes, and dress socks
- Honors/Awards as desired and appropriate for the occasion
Optional items: cummerbund or vest
Section 2. Professional Business with Tie ****
- Suit, dress jacket, coat, sweater, or vest
- Dress slacks, dress shirt, and tie
- Dress shoes, dress belt, and dress socks
- Honors/Awards as desired and appropriate for the occasion
Section 3. Smart Business – Open Collar without Tie ***
- Solid color dress slacks/pants, cotton pants, khakis, or very nice jeans
- Collared button-up shirt or polo – open collar, no neckwear (tie)
- Dress or casual shoes, belt; socks or sockless as acceptable
- No athletic shoes, tennis, running, open-toe, sandals, slippers, or crocs
- Honors/Awards as desired and appropriate for the occasion
Optional items: dress coat or jacket, casual sweater, or vest
Section 4. Casual
Part A. DeMolay Washington Casual
More stylish and upscale than Sporting.
- Casual pants, nice jeans, or appropriate casual shorts (no athletic shorts or joggers)
- DeMolay shirt (features “DeMolay” or a DeMolay logo/emblem)
- Casual shoes, sneakers, athletic shoes (no open-toe); and appropriate socks
Part B. Sporting / Ultra Casual *
- Jeans, shorts (casual or athletic), joggers or sweats
- T-shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys, tank-tops
- Athletic shoes, slides, sandals, crocs; and socks as appropriate
